I'm a learner, a listener, an oversharer, a thrifter, a runner. Give me a good playlist (anything from T-Pain to Florence + The Machine) and my running shoes and I'm set.

When I'm not chasing my two young kids around our house in Metro Detroit, you can find me decorating with thrifted pieces that call to me, learning how to use a sewing machine again or having my second (or third) Americano of the day.

Two babies in less than two years has been humbling, to say the least. Motherhood has made my life colorful, rewarding, chaotic and challenging in ways only parenting can. It has ripped me open, knocked me down, kicked my ass and repaired me in ways I will never be able to explain. I've survived the last two years with the help of lots of therapy, photography and caffeine (but, seriously, no one works harder than our espresso machine).

Becoming a mother is what brought me to my center in photography. Maybe even my center in myself. Mothering is a constant, steady reminder to take myself less seriously, to release control, to bask in the light and to follow the feeling before anything else. That's the approach I take in my work, whether I'm by your side on your wedding day or welcomed into your home to document your morning-time routine as a family, or something in between.

Here's what people say:

"Sarah is incredibly talented, kind, fun -- an absolute joy to work with. On our wedding day, She was the perfect balance of being a part of the celebration and behind the scenes. We cannot thank Sarah enough for the role she played in the most special day of our lives"
